Let’s Talk
Who Am I?
I am Lisa Augspurger a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the State of Texas (#97316) under the supervision of Mark Cagle, LPC-S (#71799). I graduated from Angelo State University with a Master’s in Mental Health and Wellness Counseling, Liberty University with a Master’s in Human Services Counseling: Life Coaching, and the University of Houston Clear Lake with a Master’s in Educational Management. In addition, I obtained a certification from Lone Star College for a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with practicum hours from the Mental Health Resource Center in Conroe, TX.
I am also a mom, coach, educator, and someone who has experienced firsthand the challenges that come with navigating life’s transitions. Whether it’s a career shift, a relationship change, or the personal growth that comes with entering a new phase of life, I understand how overwhelming it can feel. Life is full of twists and turns, and I’m here to help you navigate them with grace, resilience, and confidence.
With experience in guiding women through personal growth and transformation and over 19 years of teaching adolescents and working with families, I’ve learned that transitions are not just about change—they’re an opportunity for reinvention. I’ve walked the path of juggling multiple roles—stay-at-home mom, working mom, and everything in between. As I’ve raised two amazing kids, built a career, and perservered through my own life changes, I’ve come to embrace the power of self-compassion, growth, and the art of reinvention.
Whether you're dealing with a career change, a new chapter in your personal life, or the feeling that you're ready to take on something new but don’t know where to start—I’m here to guide you. Together, we’ll work on finding clarity, setting new goals, and rediscovering your inner strength so you can step confidently into your next chapter.
You don’t have to go through these transitions alone. I’ll be your partner in this journey, helping you embrace the changes ahead and find peace and joy along the way. It’s time to take control of your story and move forward with confidence. Reach out today, and let’s revise your life and begin this exciting new chapter together!
LPC vs. LPC-Associate: What’s the Difference?
Is an LPC-Associate qualified to provide services?
You may have noticed some therapists list themselves as LPC-Associates, while others are fully licensed LPCs (Licensed Professional Counselors). So what’s the difference—and does it matter for you as a client?
The short answer: LPC-Associates are highly trained and fully qualified to provide counseling services.
What training does an LPC-Associate have?
Both LPCs and LPC-Associates have completed a master’s degree in counseling or a related mental health field. They’ve passed rigorous state licensing exams and have extensive training in therapy techniques, ethics, and clinical work.
So, if an LPC-Associate has completed his/her degree and passed a state licensing exam, why are they an associate?
The main difference? An LPC-Associate is still in the process of completing post-graduate supervised hours—typically 3,000 hours under the guidance of an experienced LPC supervisor.
This means LPC-Associates are:
Actively receiving expert guidance and feedback
Engaged in ongoing professional development
Staying current with best practices in the field
Why should I choose an LPC-Associate?
Working with an LPC-Associate offers all the benefits of therapy—compassion, insight, tools for growth—often at a lower cost than a fully licensed provider.
Most importantly, LPC-Associates are:
✅ Well trained
✅ State-certified to practice
✅ Deeply committed to client care and growth
If you’re considering working with an LPC-Associate, rest assured: You’re in capable, caring, and professional hands.
